A Staten Island woman has actually been charged in a fatal crash last month in Greenville.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, on Saturday, February 3, shortly before 12:20 a.m., Amanda Rivera, 28, was driving while intoxicated when her 2019 Nissan sedan collided with the back of a parked and unoccupied tractor trailer on Route 185 near where it converges with Linden Avenue East.
The 3 female occupants were taken by ambulance to
Jersey City Medical Center. Rivera and the front seat passenger, a 27-year-old lady from Old Bridge, were treated for non-life threatening injuries. The rear seat passenger-- later on identified as Stephanie Weymouth, 31, of Bayonne-- was noticable dead.
Rivera was arrested yesterday at the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Secaucus by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit. She is charged with Aggravated Manslaughter; Reckless Manslaughter; and Assault by Auto.
Rivera was taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending her first court look.
