Style suggestions to different remote 'work' from 'home'Cathy Hobbs


As house and work have converged for numerous, it can be challenging to determine how to separate the two. How do you prevent having house seem like "the office" while still developing an environment that seems like home? Where is the work-life balance?

Here are some suggestions for designing a perfect blend of work and relaxation under the very same roofing system.

1. Produce a different area for work. Preferably, this must be a different room. If you can't, producing a work "zone" that is distinct and different from other activities will help.

2. Take frequent breaks during the day. Once in the morning, once around lunch and as soon as before completion of the day is ideal.

3. Spend some time outdoors. Taking some time for a breath of fresh air will help impart a sense of calm.

4. Instill soothing colors to inspire peacefulness. Pure white, neutrals and relaxing blues are a good location to start.

5. Include plant and other natural aspects. Trees and plants can go a long way in assisting a space feel fresh and contemporary.

6. Use as much natural sunshine as possible, or instill as much light as possible into a space. Sunlight can assist increase serotonin in the brain.

7. Think about including fragrance or fragrance. A soothing impact can come from soothing the senses through aromatherapy.

8. Try out mirrors. Mirrors reflect light and can act like windows in an area.

9. Use wood and woodlike aspects. This can help ground a space and make it feel relaxing.
