Surveys now open in North Carolina for March 5 main

PEAK, N.C. - - Ready, set, vote!

North Carolina is among 16 states to cast tallies on Super Tuesday in the U.S. governmental main races to see who will take on come November.

While Joe Biden is the only Democrat on the presidential ticket in North Carolina, Nikki Haley remains in the race against Donald Trump, cinching her first main victory in Washington D.C. President is only one of the contentious races that will be selected Tuesday for the Tar Heel State.

Several United States House races will be set with congested Republican fields in Districts 6, 8 and 13 to name a few. While Rep. Kathy Manning (D. D-6) will not be running once again due to redistricting, the Republican primary for her seat has been heated up.

Additionally, the candidates for the North Carolina gubernatorial race have been long predicted, but will the main set those forecasts in stone?

Turnout for early voting was down around 13% compared to 2020's primary election, but there's still a long day of vote casting ahead.

If you are signed up as Unaffiliated, you can pick to vote in any main, but only one of them. , if you are registered as a third party that does not have any primaries running (such as Green Party or No Labels) you can not vote in the primary.. Surveys will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. Any voter in line at their assigned ballot location at 7:30 p.m. will be able to vote. You will need a valid image I.D.
