CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB)-- An 18-year-old was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison followed by six years of post-release supervision on Thursday for two carjacking-related criminal activities that took place in Cheektowaga last September.

Authorities state that Josue Lubala of Cheektowaga approached a female and her 2-year-old kid outside Cheektowaga Town Park with a knife. The offender forced the woman and her kid into the guest seat of the automobile. Lubala then drove to Buffalo's Emerson community, where he let the victim and her kid exit the car prior to repeling.

Lubala returned to Cheektowaga Town Park the next day to try a similar crime the next day, authorities state. The offender got in a parked automobile through the motorist's side door and tried to rob and abduct a woman being in the front traveler seat at knifepoint. The lady ran and got away for aid. A bystander called 911 and reported the occurrence. Cheektowaga Police situated Lubala on Walden Avenue later on that day and jailed him after a short chase.

Lubala plead guilty to 5 felonies in March. Those charges included one count of first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree kidnapping, one count of second-degree attempted kidnapping and one count of first-degree attempted robbery.
