Temperatures heat up before rain gets here Friday

HOUSTON, Texas (BNN)-- Today will be another warm and intense day with temperature levels alerting into the mid 60s by the afternoon. Tuesday night will not be as cold as last night, though temperatures will fall into the low-mid 40s.

What'& #x 27; s the Valentine & #x 27; s Day forecast?A lovely day remains in store with a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures increasing to near 70 degrees in the afternoon. A perfect day to spend some time outside with liked ones!

When does the next rainmaker arrive? This weather

system will bring widespread showers for Friday, a few of which could stick around into Saturday morning. It now looks like the much heavier rain will stay offshore, so build-ups will likely average less than an inch for most of Southeast Texas. Heavy rain totals of 1 to 2 inches are possible along the coast, especially near Matagorda Bay. That being said, flooding and serious weather condition is not expected either day at this moment.

What does the weekend appearance like?Well, it wont be as warm or rainy as last weekend. A cold front will move through late Friday and into Saturday. And while that will clear rain for the weekend, it'& #x 27; ll likewise drop temperature levels too. Temperature levels Saturday will just spend time the upper 40s or 50s under a primarily cloudy sky. Sunday will be sunnier, but rather cold in the morning with early morning lows starting in the upper 30s.

Are we finished with freezes for this winter?Probably not. While we don & #x 27; t have any freezes currently in our 10-day projection for Houston, we do think a frost is possible in Southeast Texas on Tuesday early morning and once again on Sunday morning. Temperatures in Houston will likely drop into the mid-to-upper 30s on both celebrations, which is cold enough to put frost on the ground and roofs. The next shot of cold air boiling down the Plains later on this week does not aim to have much arctic air blended in it, so while we can not eliminate a light freeze for some on Sunday early morning, a hard freeze is not anticipated at this time.
