AUSTIN, Texas (BNN)-- The Texas Veterans Commission granted more than $36.3 million in grants to be dispersed to 135 Veterans' service companies throughout the state.
The commission awarded Fund for Veterans' Assistance (FVA) grants totaling $ 36,347,000 to be distributed amongst 135 companies.

In the Panhandle, organizations awarded grants consist of Panhandle Community Services granted a $200,000 grant for monetary support and a $500,000 grant for Home Modification; Family Support Services of
Amarillo, Inc. was awarded a $265,000 grant.
The commission said FVA grants are awarded to not-for-profit companies and city government companies which provide direct services to veterans and their households..
Pantex called WTAMU's Engler College of Business employer of the year.
The commission stated the grants are created by Texas Lottery Commission's games designated for Veterans' assistance, private donation alternatives on motorists' licenses, licenses to bring a handgun, outdoor entertainment licenses for searching and fishing, and car registrations.
