The threat of severe weather is over, more thunderstorms possible Friday

The threat of extreme weather is now over and so is our Weather Alert Day. While showers and thunderstorms will continue to move through parts of Southeast Texas this evening, the threat of turning storms and tornadoes has moved eastward into Louisiana.
Our weather should quiet down overnight with low temperature levels in the mid 60s. A cold front getting here late Friday must trigger an extra round of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, however the components are not in place for rotating serious storms.
Will showers and storms continue this weekend?
The first weekend of December looks mostly dry! The front should continue pressing overseas Friday night, pressing the moisture out together with it. While we can not dismiss a couple of showers in the early morning, Saturday afternoon need to be dry.
