RALEIGH, N.C. (BNN)-- Multiple protests about the war in Israel happened on college campuses in main North Carolina on Friday.
The first happened at UNC where hundreds of trainees gathered requiring a ceasefire. The organizers of the protest recognized themselves as pro-Palestinian. They collected in front of Wilson Library before marching north throughout the quad to South Building, where Chancellor Kevin Guskiewicz'& #x 27; s office is located.
There, they chanted and waved flags in support of Palestinians. At the South Building, advocates of Israel appeared to form a counter demonstration.
Demonstrations by fans of both sides of the war have actually appeared all across central North Carolina in the weeks considering that the war began. One such protest even resulted in the closure of the
Durham Freeway for multiple hours.
At NC State, trainees plan to march through
Raleigh in assistance of Palestinians around 2 p.m
. The group arranging the march said it is a program of force created to trigger NC State University and North Carolina legislators to demand an instant ceasefire in Israel. They also desire the university and state to divest all funds from Israel.
