Autumn Adventures Await: Your Ultimate Guide to Fall Fun in Akron and Cleveland!
Last year, I found myself in Akron just as winter was settling in, missing out on the vibrant fall season. This year, however, I’m ready to immerse myself in the rich tapestry of autumn, filled with crunchy leaves, colorful landscapes, and a host of exciting local events. If you're also eager to soak up the season's offerings, you’re in luck! My colleague Najee Hall and I have compiled an extensive roundup of the best festivals and activities happening in and around Akron and Cleveland throughout October and November.
Weekend Highlights You Can't Miss
This weekend promises a delightful mix of culture, creativity, and community spirit. Here’s what’s on the agenda:
- The Masque of Night: Experience an innovative take on Shakespeare's timeless classic "Romeo and Juliet" presented by the New Place Players. This off-Broadway production runs for seven performances, with a special showing at Gervasi Vineyard in Canton on October 3rd. Tickets range from $10 to $40, and the opening show kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at the Sandefur Theatre in Guzzetta Hall, University of Akron.
- Crafternoon at Summit Artspace: Bring your current art project and join fellow creatives on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned artist, this event encourages collaboration and connection in a relaxed atmosphere. Can't make it this weekend? No worries—Crafternoon occurs every third Saturday of the month!
- Akron Pug Fest: Sunday is all about our adorable canine companions at Akron's Pug Fest! The event kicks off with a fun half-kilometer walk at Cascade Plaza at 10:30 a.m. Bring your pug, or any well-behaved dog, for a day of festivities that include vendors, food trucks, and plenty of pet-friendly activities. Registration for the walk is $20, with proceeds benefiting Ohio Pug Rescue, while the festival is free to attend.
