Video: School bus hits tanker in South Carolina


GILBERT, South Carolina (WJW)-- More than a lots children are recovering after their school bus hit a tanker in Gilbert, South Carolina, on Thursday.

The mishap sent 18 individuals, 17 of them children, to the healthcare facility, according to regional news outlet WIS-TV.

Video footage captured by a nearby surveillance video camera shows the bus coming to a stop at a crossway while the tanker approaches from the left. The bus then pulls into the crossway and is struck by the tanker.

Onlookers are soon seen running towards the website of the crash.

Emergency crews later reacted to the scene and carried the injured kids and the adult to the Lexington Medical Center for treatment. All have considering that been launched, a representative told the Associated Press.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

Gilbert has to do with 30 miles (49 kilometers) southwest of South Carolina's capital of Columbia.
