Voices of Unity: Resources for women-owned Cleveland services


CLEVELAND - - The U.S. Census Bureau states over 41% of companies in Ohio are owned by ladies. Recent stats confirm Cleveland specifically reveals a remarkable growth in small companies led by females.

Many of them continue to climb up by using regional resources to help them preserve growth and stability.

In this Voices of Unity segment, Fox 8's Jennifer Jordan presents us to a program whose mission is to help females business owners thrive.

The Economic and Community Development Institute is a nationwide organization that supports the women's business centers of Ohio It works as a micro-lender for small businesses, committed to eliminating barriers for ladies, like access to capital.

Vice-President of Entrepreneurial Programs Nicole Liatos stated ECDI provides resources, training and access to capital for companies in a large selection of fields, from food service to expert services.

Feeling brave? An appearance inside 'haunted' places in Northeast Ohio.

ECDI is welcoming the public to help celebrate and uplift regional business owners throughout their annual fundraiser, "In the Company of Women."

The fundraiser will be held Thursday, Oct. 26.
