HOUSTON (BNN)-- Clear skies and dry air settle in for a few days, however it will not last through the weekend. Scattered rain arrives Sunday and, unfortunately, continues into Monday during the solar eclipse.
Texas is in between storm systems for a couple of days, with sunny skies in the projection for much of the state Wednesday through Friday. After prevalent serious storms from the Great Lakes to the Gulf Coast Tuesday, extreme weather condition now heads into the East and Southeast U.S., with cold wet weather condition behind it.
The next system quickly emerges on the West Coast, which will introduce clouds in our location this weekend, and after that some scattered rain Sunday. The clouds and possibly damp pattern last for a few more days, indicating the weather condition will not be ideal for solar eclipse viewing on Monday.
The image below is a picture of what one computer design shows midday Monday. Green represents a chance of rain, and the red line is the solar eclipse course of totality. Currently, it seems that skies will be less cloudy in North Texas than Central, South and Southeast Texas.
The National Weather Service is forecasting partially cloudy skies for
Dallas and Waco, but mainly cloudy for
Austin,
San Antonio and
Houston.
