The suspect involved in the disturbing incident where a puppy was deliberately run over in Santa Ana today has turned herself into the police at the SAPD's headquarters, according to officials.

The woman, who is now in custody at the Santa Ana Jail, is facing charges of animal cruelty for her actions.

Thankfully, the puppy is expected to make a full recovery from the incident.

Described as a short Hispanic woman, the suspect was seen wearing salmon-colored exercise pants and a gray top, with her brown hair tied up in a bun. The arresting officer reportedly towered over her during the arrest.
