A 101-year-old World War II veteran hurt on March 1 when an automobile driven by a believed armed robber crashed into his lorry has actually died.
Herbert Muskin, a Henderson guy who suffered a damaged neck in the accident, passed away Thursday at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, according to a Metropolitan Police Department news release.
Muskin, who served in the U.S. Army as a captain in World War II, was driving home with his spouse, Sherry, and stopped at a traffic signal near Sunset Road and Stephanie Street when authorities state a vehicle driven by 29-year-old heist suspect Kassandra Alvarez smashed into the back of their cars and truck, pressing it into a pole.
Alvarez was driving with two other women in a stolen Mercedes Benz after apparently robbing a company near the 4600 block of West Sahara Avenue in Las Vegas, authorities reported.
When 2 Las Vegas law enforcement officer identified the lorry near Paradise Road and East Sahara Avenue, they tried unsuccessfully to stop it and followed the cars and truck till it hit Muskin's automobile in Henderson, police stated.
Among the break-in thinks in the automobile, 31-year-old Lorraine Alvarado, ran away from the Mercedes and pointed a gun at the officers, who fired their guns, striking Alvarado.
Alvarado was required to Sunrise Hospital in crucial condition.
She was reserved into the Clark County Detention Center on suspicion of robbery with a lethal weapon, conspiracy to dedicate burglary with a lethal weapon, grand larceny of automobile, possession of a weapon by restricted person and assault with a lethal weapon on a secured individual.
