" I'm very baffled. I do not know how we've gone from a two-day notification to replace carpet to a notification and order that I need to leave," stated Della Van Antwerp.
She said they received the notices today at Oak Hills West Apartments in Lorain.
About 18 lower units were flooded during extreme thunderstorms and torrential rainfall Aug. 23 to Aug. 24.
" The flooding was pretty bad," stated Van Antwerp. "First, I was informed that they were gon na change all of our carpet and then I got a notification after I got out of the healthcare facility that I'm now being kicked out since my home is uninhabitable."
On Thursday night, BNN News tried to contact United Property Management, which is listed on the eviction notifications, but was not able to talk to them or the property manager..
Van Antwerp stated she understands of a minimum of someone who is being relocated to another system.
She and others who asked not to be determined are hoping they will have the ability to stay too.
" I don't comprehend why I can't be put up in a hotel or something while my home is repaired and allowed to come back home," stated Van Antwerp. "I've planted flowers, I've landscaped the front of my structure. I mean, this is my house.".

Van Antwerp said she has actually attempted calling other apartment complexes but those in her cost range have waiting lists of a minimum of a year and Oak Hills West is holding all of their down payment till after they leave.

She and other residents became choked up and nearly broke down in tears as they pleaded with the owner and managers to reassess.
" Please in some way, some method, like - - I'm prepared to put my things in storage so you can fix my home and let me get home. I have nowhere to go," she stated.
