Discover the Dockside Night Market: Local Fish, Global Flavors

On August 25th, the San Diego Fishermen’s Working Group and Puffer Malarkey Collective will host a one-night event showcasing dishes made with locally sourced seafood.

The festival will be held from 6 to 10 p.m at the Tuna Harbor Market Pier in Seaport Village, celebrating local San Diego fishermen and the fresh products they provide.

The event, titled Dockside Night Market: “Local Fish, Global Flavors”, will feature a variety of unique dishes prepared by local top chefs using the freshest catches of the day. Chefs from renowned San Diego restaurants like Animae, Herb & Wood, Valle, and more will participate.

In addition to the delicious dishes, the market will have a cash bar and live musical entertainment by artists such as Sounds by Nikki, Good Gravy St Blues, and The Barnacle Boys.

All ticket profits will be donated to the San Diego Fishermen's Working Group, a nonprofit organization of local fishermen that aims to support seafood choices that benefit local communities and promote the health of marine resources.

Event Details:

  • Date: August 25th
  • Time: 6 - 10 p.m.
  • Location: Tuna Harbor Market Pier, Seaport Village
  • Ticket Price: $100 for attendees 21+

This event aligns with the “Local Fish, Global Flavor” initiative, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, in collaboration with the San Diego Fishermen’s Working Group, Policy & Innovation Center, San Diego Food System Alliance, and California Sea Grant, with sponsorship from the Port of San Diego.

“The fishing industry is integral to San Diego – just like we support small locally owned businesses and farms – we must support the local fisherman to preserve this important local industry that bring us fresh, healthy fish,” said Pete Halmay, president of the San Diego Fishermen's Working Group and a longtime San Diego commercial fisherman.
