After years of emptiness and missed potential, a long-vacant lot in Vestavia Hills is finally getting a much-needed boost! Ace Hardware is making its way to the community, bringing along promise and opportunity for local residents and businesses alike.
Earlier this week, The Retail Companies played a pivotal role in facilitating the acquisition of a 1.08-acre outparcel located at 600 Old Town Road, Vestavia Hills, AL 35216. This location, which has been dormant since 2016, will soon be home to a brand-new Ace Hardware store. Situated right next to the ever-popular Chuck E. Cheese, this site was once occupied by a restaurant named Ichiban, which tragically succumbed to a fire eight years ago.
Brooks Corr, a Partner at The Retail Companies, expressed enthusiasm about the development, stating:
“This new store will fill a much-needed gap in the local market, providing residents and businesses in the area with a trusted source for home improvement products and services. The site has held untapped potential since the Ichiban fire, and we’re excited to help turn it into something valuable for the community.”
The construction of the new Ace Hardware store, spanning an impressive 10,000 square feet, is expected to commence shortly. But that's not all—October has proven to be a busy month for The Retail Companies. They've also brokered a deal to introduce The Picklr, one of Alabama's first indoor pickleball centers, to the state.
Michelle V. Hawkins, President and CEO of the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce, shared her excitement:
“The Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce is super excited to welcome The Picklr to our North 31 Business District and Ace Hardware to our South 31 Business District.”
