Hot Spring County constable struck with three more criminal charges

Scott Finkbeiner

A federal grand jury has returned 3 charges against Hot Spring County Sheriff Scott Finkbeiner in addition to an obstruction of justice charge he already faced.

In an indictment last week, the grand jury accused Finkbeiner, 46, of another count of blockage along with failure to report illegal drug activity and efforts to hide it. The third charge versus him alleges that he knew a person maintaining "a drug-involved facilities" but did not report the matter as quickly as possible and even attempted to hide its existence from the FBI.

Finkbeiner is free on bond and is still constable. The prosecution has asked a federal judge in the Western District of Arkansas for a hearing aimed at getting him put behind bars pending trial.
