RALEIGH, N.C. (BNN)-- Despite strong high pressure sitting throughout the bulk of the Southeast/Gulf today, there are still some low clouds provide this morning mainly due in part to surface low pressure that continues to shift additional eastward over the Atlantic. These clouds will primarily be a problem for locations east of RDU through the early morning hours, as sunlight and dry weather condition settles in across the Triangle by daybreak. Otherwise, we have another seasonably cool, yet tranquil late-February day. Milder air starts to usher into the Carolinas by tomorrow as abovementioned high pressure begins an eastward shift along the East Coast. More enjoyable conditions can be expected for the start of the week as a result; however, we are
tracking a piece of weak limit travelling through the Northeast and mid-Atlantic ... Most models (specifically hi-res guidance) recommends more clouds and a stray shower can sneak into the Triangle by Monday afternoon, though precip chances increase north of RDU ... We will cover for some stray showers, though it is possible that a lot of parts of the Triangle
stay dry.
Prominent warming continues through the middle of next week, with high temperatures in many areas breaching into the 70s by Wednesday!
