Witnessing the expansion of Mission Arlington’s Mission Metroplex Medical Clinic, Tillie Burgin sees it as God's work to aid those in need within the city. Leading a prayer inside the newly renovated space, Burgin expressed gratitude for the medical services provided by Mission Arlington.
“We thank God for what he has done and is doing and I can't imagine what has yet to come,” said Burgin, the founder and executive director of the organization. “People are struggling. They are without good health and necessary medical equipment like wheelchairs or hospital beds.”
Grateful for the support, Burgin acknowledges the Texas Rangers for showcasing their MLB Legacy Project through the renovation of Mission Arlington's medical clinic. This facility offers free medical services to an estimated 12,000 to 15,000 patients annually, totaling more than $5 million in medical care provided at no cost to patients.
Members of the Texas Rangers Foundation and MLB Together recently toured seven new patient rooms and a triage room at Mission Arlington. Funds from the World Series Legacy Project were used to decorate a new pediatric room with a mural celebrating the Rangers' victory last fall.
The Mission Arlington clinic has become a place where Texas Rangers staff, players, and their families actively contribute to the Arlington community. Karin Morris, executive director of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, expressed the foundation's commitment to continue supporting Mission Arlington.
