On Wednesday,
Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown announced the "5/14 Remembrance Weekend of Reflection, Healing & & Hope.
"" The racially motivated mass shooting shook our community to its core," Brown stated. "It was a day the unimaginable occurred. It happened because the injury brought on by white supremacy embedded in our country's history and material continues to fester, not simply in Western
New York, however across our nation. Due to the fact that social media platforms and weapon laws have gone untreated for far too long in our nation, it also happened. We need to come together as a country to face this reality, to address bigotry, and to educate our youths of any ages and of all races, or we will continue to see innocent people eliminated by individuals filled with hate."
