(FOX40.COM)-- Sacramento County Behavioral Health Solutions will be awarded more than $ 43 million in Behavioral Health Bridge Real estate funds to support its ongoing efforts to deal with homelessness and enhance the lives of individuals coping with severe mental illness, authorities say.
" Through the power of compassion and investment, the $43 million bridge real estate award to Sacramento County is a substantial action in transforming lives and communities," states Sacramento County Behavioral Health Director Dr. Ryan Quist. "This funding will assist behavioral health expand detailed bridge-housing supports for those in need."
The award comes from the State Department of Health Care Services Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH) and will make it possible for Sacramento County Behavioral Health Services (BHS) to expand interim real estate by adding 110 beds throughout 3 Safe Stay neighborhoods, according to Sacramento County. The County-sanctioned bridge real estate will offer individuals experiencing homelessness with a supportive and safe environment to support their health and safety.
Sacramento County also reported that the financing will assist in the advancement or restoration of shovel-ready projects for another 100 beds, including remodelled hotels, board and care homes, and sober living facilities. The sites will provide on-site helpful services to help people shift towards long-term housing.
